Singles Rush to Spice Up Their Lives at The Spice of Life
Singles in search of true love rushed to spice up their lives at The Spice of Life in the west end of Glasgow earlier this month ( August ) when the Indian restaurant hosted its first Eurasia Singles Night, a live dating event with the aim of helping singles find the love of their lives.
The event was the brainchild of Nasreen Aksi, franchisee at the Spice of Life and the Ashoka West, who said, 'It turned out to be an absolutely fantastic night, with various celebrities attending, including Ricky Dhillon from River City . And the three belly dancers proved a great hit. |

'I know that many people met potential partners through the evening, and plan to make further contact - and who knows where that might lead? Perhaps we'll soon be hosting our first Spice of Life wedding reception for a couple who met each other at our Eurasia Singles Night!'
'The idea behind the Eurasia Singles Night stemmed from discussions with many of my divorced or single friends who have encountered difficulties meeting new people. Some of my friends have tried chat lines or gone online, but the trouble with these is that you never know just who you're talking to and the photograph posted on the internet often transpires not to be the person you arrange to meet.
'And there's always a risk when you're chatting someone up in a pub or club that they could be married. A singles night removes all these risks because at a singles night everyone who attends, by definition, is single so that guests can feel free to flirt and chat someone up because they know they are there for that very reason.'
While there are plans for another Eurasia Singles Night soon, Ms Aksi is also planning to host a Ladies Night, in association with the Ann Summers.
The Spice of Life is part of the Harlequin Leisure Group, Europe 's largest chain of Indian restaurants.
