Mill Wins Best Restaurant Award
Darnley-based Ashoka at the Mill, the jewel in the crown of Harlequin Leisure Group, Europe's largest chain of Indian restaurants, has won the fiercely contested best restaurant in Scotland category of the renowned Cobra Good Curry Awards.
A delighted Rajesh Saraf, operations manager at Ashoka at the Mill, was presented with the award at the ninth annual awards ceremony at the Hilton on Park Lane, London.
Mr Saraf said, "I am particularly proud to receive this award against stiff competition as it is chosen by Pat Chapman's Curry Club, Britain's first and foremost authority on Asian food, based on his own mystery shopper reports and customer feed back. So thank you to all our regular diners at the Mill!"
The combination of its historic medieval farmhouse location with a classy contemporary twist has made the Mill a uniquely attractive restaurant for curry connoisseurs, whilst its popular Poppadom's Playzone has proved a great hit with families.
The Cobra Good Curry Awards were established to recognise excellence across a wide variety of Indian sub-continent cuisine, from Pakistani to Sri Lanka.
