The Quay to the Answer?
ASHOKA SUPREMO has recently concluded a deal to open a new restaurant down at the Quay off Paisley Road West. The site comprises a Cinema, Frankie and Bennies, Brewers Fayre, but will also house the new Ashoka, Chiquitos, Nandos , a Hotel and Casino. Says Sanjay, "We have seen a considerable maturity in the Ashoka Shaks, and Harlequin is very confident the Quay will be a resounding success".
The new restaurant will see a new brand emerging which Sanjay believes will spearhead his attack on the larger brands such as TGI Fridays, Frankies and Nandos. "I've studied the market and am waiting to launch my new idea to the Glasgow public, the new eaterie will very much be based on some concepts that I feel will sit nicely with the chains, our food will be as traditional as it gets with more cooking on the bone and delicious vegetarian as well as healthier choices, the ambience will be more comfortable with extra booth seating, an ideal beginning or end to a night out to the cinema".
As well as this Sanjay will be opening his first Italian Express Unit in Wellgate Shopping center, Dundee. "Yes, we're doing our first Italian Food Court, inspired by our globally qualified chefs who can make just as good pasta as curry." Wellgate sees the blueprint for Sanjays new Express Units which gives shoppers the chance to enjoy a quick bite. Director Sandeep Majhu says, " if this works for us we would like to roll out express units which operationally will be simpler in model to Ashoka Restaurants, and the closing times will be 7pm which means more sociable trading hours, ideal for our franchising format".
