SCORE! LOCAL FOOTIE CLUB SCORES A HAT TRICK
Local Glasgow restaurants, Ashoka Bearsden and Las Ramblas, this week donated three swanky new sets of strips to Milngavie Boys Club. What's more, to celebrate the donation, the two restaurants arranged for an exclusive visit from football legend Mark Hately, as the teams trained at Murray Park on Monday 26th May 2008.
The three U-11 teams christened their stylish new strips at Rangers F.C.'s incredible world class training facility, where they enjoyed an hour of expert training. The young boys, aged between 8yrs and 11yrs, were joined at the grounds by Mark Hately, Las Ramblas manager Imtiaz Aslam and friends and family.
The young teams are skilfully named after three of the worlds top clubs - AC Milngavie, Real Milngavie, and Barca Milngavie and, continuing with this homage, the new strips appropriately mimic each of the international teams' colours.
Las Ramblas manager, Imtiaz Aslam , commented:'We are delighted to support Milngavie Boys Club and provide them with much-needed new strips. It's incredibly important to support your local community on a grassroots level and to invest in young football talent maybe one day we'll see these boys in the World Cup representing Scotland!'
Milngavie Boys Club coach, Pepe Sanchez, commented: 'The boys are extremely grateful to Las Ramblas and Ashoka Bearsden for the donation of the new strips and can't wait to play with pride against other teams next season. We all had a fantastic time at Murray Park; Mark was a real inspiration for the boys.'
Mark Hately commented: 'It's been fantastic being back at Murray Park, especially for such a great cause, supporting up and coming football talent in Scotland. The boys were all on great form and looked quite the professionals in their new smart strips.'
