CHARITY RUNNERS SPICE UP THEIR TRAINING WITH ASHOKA at THE MILL

Dads of Darnley are being put through their paces this week in preparation for the 10k for Men held on Sunday 15th June in Bellahouston Park, with the help of local Indian restaurant, Ashoka at the Mill.

The family eatery is inviting local men Gordon Gallagher and Gordon Gray to come along and test-run its exclusive healthy options menu on Monday 9th June at 11am, to ensure Barrhead's finest get only the best lean cuisine gearing up for the Father's Day event.

Available from Monday 9th June until Father's Day, dishes including steamed sea bass with vegetables and an Ashoka classic low calorie curry are on the mouth-watering menu, providing participants with all the taste and none of the bulge.

Rajesh Saref, franchise operator of Ashoka at the Mill, said: 'We are delighted to have cooked up a healthy menu in support of all the 10k participants and to celebrate Father's Day. Not only will it promote healthy eating, but it will allow men to enjoy their favourite curry - without the guilt - leading up to the event.

'As a gesture we will be to donating 50 pence of each and every meal from the specially designed healthy menu to Men's Health Forum Scotland - to help to continue generating awareness in health issues among Scotland's men.'

The men only charity event, organised by Men's Health Forum Scotland, is set to attract more than 5,000 men this year following last year's unanticipated success.

Mark Ward, National Coordinator, Men's Health Forum Scotland said: 'We are delighted at the support from Ashoka - they are leading the way in showing that healthy options can also be tasty. Healthy eating doesn't have to mean giving up your favourites, and I am sure the men taking part in the 3rd MHFS 10K for Men will build up a good appetite. Many thanks also for the generous offer of a free meal for medal holders, and the contribution to Men's Health Forum Scotland from the healthy menu - we will put the funds to good use in supporting the improvement of men's health in Scotland'

Ashoka at the Mill is inviting every man who completes the 10k for Men for a free meal on Father's Day, Sunday 15th June, providing they book in advance, bring their family or friends along and show their much deserved medal to staff on arrival.

Situated minutes from Glasgow Airport, Ashoka at the Mill offers families a stress free quality dining experience, where parents can take advantage of a supervised kids' Play Zone, which will be a definite winner with children, allowing mum and dad some well deserved peace and quiet.
